When you set off an alert, your group can follow you on the map even if you lock the phone or close the app. The route used to stop the moment the screen went dark.
The map is a map again. During an alarm it came crossed by a banner covering the one thing you needed to see.
While it is sharing your location a notification stays visible, so you always know when it is on and when it is not.
The point updates every 10 seconds, and the counter tells you how long ago the last one arrived, in hours, minutes and seconds.
If you lose signal the points are not lost: they wait and travel with the next one, each carrying its real time.
The «Open settings» button in permissions did nothing on iPhone. It is the only way out for someone who already said no, and it had been broken since the day it shipped.
That button now drops you straight into the app's notification settings, one screen closer.
The sign-up screens read in one go: one card instead of four loose boxes, and the notice that used to get cut off now fits.

Adding a trusted contact ends by sending them the link. It used to end at saving, and nobody on the other side found out.
If you have not sent the link, the app says so: it reads «Not invited» and does not count as someone who would reach you.
If you decide not to invite someone, mark it and the app stops asking. That person still does not receive the alert.
Someone who gets your alerts on Telegram is now shown as such. It used to say they received nothing, which was false.

Permissions are explained one at a time, before being asked. The phone used to ask the moment you opened the app.
Inviting your group is one link now, with or without the app. It used to be a link plus a ten character code.
Signing in with Apple no longer fails the first time: a fast reply from Apple used to get lost.
Changing your email works again. The confirmation mail arrived with a dead link.

On iPhone, your group's alarm now sounds even when the phone is silenced or a Focus mode is on. Apple reserves that permission for safety apps and granted ours. The first time you open this version it asks for it separately: if you turn it down, alerts keep reaching you the way they do today.
An alarm that arrives silent warns nobody. It was the biggest hole left in iOS: a silenced phone in a bag or a pocket is exactly the situation where someone never learns their group is looking for them.

Test mode now actually works. Turn it on in Settings → Alerts → Test the alarm, and your next SOS reaches your group marked as a drill from the very first notification, not relabelled afterwards. You can use it as many times as you like.
While it is armed, the button screen tells you so with a notice you cannot miss, along with the minutes left and a button to cancel. It switches off three ways: when the drill is sent, by hand, or on its own after five minutes. It never stays on, so your next real emergency is never marked as a drill.
The country we use to learn where the app is needed now comes from the connection rather than the phone language. Before, someone in Brazil with an English phone counted as being somewhere else.

The app now speaks ten languages and the notifications that reach your phone, eighteen. If yours is missing there is a screen to ask for it, and the request reaches us.
Settings has been rebuilt. Every option shows where it stands without opening it, there is a search box at the top, and the language setting is no longer buried three levels inside a section that never said "language" anywhere.
The Alerts section beats in red when nobody could hear your alarm. Having the app installed means nothing if your group is empty or your contacts never accepted, and until now that was shown nowhere.
Sharing your medical details is your decision again, and you can change it group by group: the people at work have no reason to see what your family sees.
Trusted contacts now show the @username of whoever has the app, and the edit form opens inside the contact's own card instead of appearing at the bottom of the screen.
If part of the app fails to load, the panic button keeps working. A failed download used to take the whole screen down with it.
A family or friends group is no longer labelled a neighbourhood watch.
The button that marks an alert as a drill now says "Test", and the tips invite you to fire one before you need it: it is the only way to see how it looks from the other side without a real emergency.

1.15.7 2026-08-02

You now choose when your group can see your trusted contacts phone numbers: never, only if you do not answer the wellness checks, or always. It used to be a yes/no with the timing fixed to only-if-you-do-not-answer. If you had picked "Always" in the setting next to it, expecting the group to see them from the start was reasonable, and it did not happen.
The notice no longer says someone left instructions when there are none: if the numbers show from the first moment, the text says so.

1.15.6 2026-08-02

When half an hour goes by and nobody answers an alert, the app shows the group the instructions you wrote in advance and the phone numbers of your contacts who do not have the app. If the phone had locked in the meantime, none of it ever showed up: the update arrived while the app was asleep and was lost. The screen now checks on its own, and again when you come back to it.
That notice is now ordered the way you would act: what you asked for first, then who to call, and the emergency number last. Your instructions used to sit below the call-the-police line and read like a footnote.
Your contacts phone numbers are now shown in full, not just a button. On a computer the call and SMS buttons may open nothing, so the number can still be read and dialled on another phone.

1.15.5 2026-08-01

Scanning a QR code off another phone did nothing when that screen was in dark mode: the camera just sat there looking at it. It reads it now, and reacts a good deal faster.
Scanning from Manage group asked for "the group QR" while it actually expected a person's QR, so pointing at the group code gave a confusing error. Each screen now names the QR it needs, and tells you where the other one is useful.
The update notice now shows on the main screen next to the tips, and the app also checks when it comes back from the background.
A group QR could come out with no code inside: it looked fine and scanned fine, but the other phone said it was not the right QR. It happened while the code was still loading. The screen now waits for it.
About now shows whether the app has an update applied.
The invite code was being wiped right after the group screen opened, which is why the QR came out empty. It is kept now.
The invite section is only shown to group admins, the only ones who can use it.

1.15.1 2026-08-01

The app now starts in your phone's language the first time, and in English if we do not have that language. After that your choice wins: changing the phone's language no longer changes the app.
Emergency notices arrive in your language. They used to always come in Spanish, even with the app set to something else.
If you change the language, notices start arriving in the new one.
Portuguese, French, German and Italian were half translated: wherever a piece was missing you saw Spanish. Not anymore.
The About page, the closing notes of an alarm and the error messages are translated too.
On the phone, the permissions the app asks for, the icon shortcuts and the widget show in the system language.
The app can receive fixes without going through the store. If there is one, it tells you and you decide: it never changes itself, and never while an alarm is open.
Scanning a person's QR code to add them to a group did nothing: the camera opened and that was it. It works now, and you can also scan from the group screen.

You choose when your trusted contacts find out: the moment you fire, or only if you answer no check-in.
You can write down what you want your group to do if you go silent: call emergency services, call someone, look for you somewhere. They see it only if you stop answering.
You choose whether your group can see your trusted contacts phone numbers to call them when you do not answer.
The group update now says which check-in you are on and how many minutes are left before we tell anyone outside. It used to just say we were still waiting.
An alarm nobody closes no longer stays open forever: it is archived on its own after 24 hours, or whenever you choose.
With poor signal the app still opens and the button is there within the first second. It used to keep loading or send you back to the login screen.
If you fire with no coverage, the alert queues and keeps retrying for an hour until it goes out.
Alarms from whoever added you as a trusted contact now show up in Alerts, even if you share no group with that person. Before, the push arrived and then you found nothing.
The notice now says who asked for help, instead of naming a group you are not in.
Alerts is one single list of everything that happened, and each card says where it came from.
Your username has a QR code: show it and they add you without typing. There is a camera to scan someone else's, and the group one now sits inside the code field.
Sharing the app now lets you pick who: a friend, family, the work group or the drivers group. Each with its own message.
In the bell you can select, mark as read and delete.
You can let us email you about what is new. It starts off.
On tablet and desktop the app is properly large, with the SOS button at the size it deserves.
The app starts faster: fewer requests and no repeated queries.
The rate button now works on a phone.
We fixed copy that promised things that were no longer true: the alarm does not close itself after 40 minutes, it escalates to your contacts and stays open.

A new bell next to Settings: everything that is not an alert shows up there.
When someone adds you as a trusted contact or invites you to a group, you now find out, and you accept or decline right from the bell.
The notice is kept even if the phone notification never arrives, so opening the app is enough to see it.
You also hear back when someone accepts what you sent.
Notifications now arrive in your language.

You can now add trusted contacts by username: they tell you, you type it, done. No phone numbers, no guessing how they wrote it.
Your trusted contact now actually finds out when you set off the SOS: they get the alert, see where you are on the map, can say they are on their way, and see your medical details.
You can also invite people to your groups by username.
Nobody adds you as a contact or puts you in a group without you accepting first.
Pick your username from My account.
We removed the WhatsApp and SMS invitation link: it opened the browser instead of the app and made you sign in again. The username replaces it.

When somebody in your group taps “On my way”, you now get the notification right away: you know you were seen and that help is coming.
The SOS no longer makes you wait 30 seconds. If you cancelled by mistake, you can ask for help again instantly.
You now choose how often we ask whether you are OK: 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes, from Settings.
If you answer none of the check-ins, we notify your trusted contacts and the alert stays open instead of closing itself.
You can invite your trusted contacts with a link over WhatsApp or SMS, with no need for their phone number to match.
If somebody in your group sees an unanswered alert, they can message that person's family.
Fixed the error when deleting a group that had members.

Signing in with Apple no longer asks you to type your name: it uses the one Apple provides, or one you can change later in My account.

My Places: you can now set a place by typing the address, using your current location, or dragging the pin on an interactive map. You can also edit a saved place's location, not just its radius.
A place's radius now goes from 10 m (was 50 m) up to 200 m, with quick shortcuts for Home and Work.
"My Places" now lives in Settings → My Account. "Detect by location" is a more compact shortcut and tolerates GPS margin of error.
